Azure AD Connect (AADC) is an identity synchronization tool from Microsoft, responsible for synchronizing identity data from the local directory service to Azure Active Directory (AAD). Microsoft's announcement states that the successor, Azure AD Connect Cloud Sync, will take over completely.
